Basics for the New Auxiliary

As a member of the dental team, the auxiliary should know "The Basics", such as Basic Oral Anatomy, Infection Control, Universal Precautions, Aids and Hepatitis B Prevention. Knowledge of these basics is essential for taking radiographs, assisting the dentist or hygienist, coronal-polishing teeth, performing lab work and many other tasks.

This course teaches the basics so that you will understand more about the teeth and the risks that each auxiliary faces on the job. You should be concerned with reducing risks of spreading an infection to yourself and others. Hence, you will be able to communicate with the dentist more easily using technical dental terminology. In addition, an overview of instrument passing and aspiration will be introduced. This course will be a great enhancement to the new auxiliary. A great preliminary course toward the more enhanced courses we offer. 8 hours of CE credit: DBC Category 1

Students are required to provide their own safety glasses; all other course supplies are provided.
